WE HAVEN’T MISSED A BEAT—BECAUSE GOD PROVIDED THE BLUEPRINT! 🙌🏽

WE HAVEN’T MISSED A BEAT—BECAUSE GOD PROVIDED THE BLUEPRINT! 🙌🏽

I’m learning how to truly live, breathe, and be present in the moment.

For years, I cared for my mother and showed up when she needed me most. That experience prepared me to find my voice, stand firmly, and advocate for my Papa when he needed me.

Life took us from Houston to Mississippi, then to Chicago, and now back home to Mississippi. Along the way, death visited our family twice—first my mother’s father, my Papa, and then my mother.

Now, I’m left learning how to adjust and navigate through my experiences, memories, thoughts, hurt, and pain—all while working, raising my daughter, helping with my father’s household, and adapting to our new lifestyle.

Whew…listen! Why not me?

I don’t always get it right. I don’t always have the right words or even the energy to express what I’m feeling. Yet, God gave me a community. He gave me sisters and a close, dear friend who has been beside me through every up and down, every high and low, and every late-night and early-morning phone call.

When I say this journey has been a lot—listen! The same two suitcases and two backpacks that brought me back home are still the only belongings I have here. My things from the last three years are still in Chicago.

But they are just things.

I’ll get them when I’m able to pack and move them—or I’ll pack them and give some away. Either way, God has shown me that what truly matters cannot be packed inside a suitcase.

Through it all, we haven’t missed a beat!

My daughter needed help getting enrolled in school—God sent people, and we didn’t miss a beat.

I needed help getting my business established locally—we didn’t miss a beat.

I needed support introducing my business to the community—we didn’t miss a beat.

I needed my car delivered—we didn’t miss a beat.

I needed a little love, and “feel-good” packages started arriving in the mail—we didn’t miss a beat.

I needed someone with whom I could be completely vulnerable—God provided, and we didn’t miss a beat.

I needed people to surround me, support me, and love on me—and God gave me a whole tribe—we didn’t miss a beat!

BABY, IF THIS AIN’T GOD, I DON’T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY! 🙌🏽

I’m rebuilding because God provided the blueprint, and I’m putting it all into action!

And my sister-friend Shawnda? She is my hero, my superfriend, my God Girl, and my SHEro! 🫶🏽 She has loved me through some of the hardest moments of my life.

Find your tribe—but please understand, I’m not sharing mine! 😂❤️

Little by little, I’m getting my girly-girl things here and learning how to love on myself again. I may be rebuilding, grieving, adjusting, and growing—but through God’s grace, I’m still standing, still building, and still moving forward!

Firstly, I’d like to give my condolences on your loss. I really enjoyed the read and how much empowerment you’ve had to help you get through. There’s nothing like genuine people that will stand in your corner and embrace you in your time of weakness. God is not finished with you. You keep growing, and glowing. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to reading more.
